Feng Xiyao found herself transmigrated, unfortunately landing in the shoes of Empress Feng who met her demise within a page of the book. Moments before being granted the white silk for suicide, she inwardly scoffed: “This tyrant truly lacks wit, deserving the betrayal by his most beloved who would then sever his head, their family’s corpses hung on the city walls to be whipped—a fate he invited by executing the empress who deeply loved him, all on account of a mere scheme crafted by Imperial Concubine Shu!”
Just as she accepted her inevitable death, the tyrant astonishingly spared her.
Encountering the Empress Dowager, she inwardly criticized, “This empress dowager is far too merciful, nurturing a pack of ungrateful wretches who would conspire with the enemy to topple the Great Xia, slaying the emperor and driving her other two children to either take their own lives or meet brutal ends—a tragedy unparalleled.”
The Empress Dowager was left speechless.
